Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are the newest edition in injectable aesthetic treatments  and are quickly becoming the most popular. A minimally invasive way to achieve skin optimisation which is affordable, has no recovery time and yields lasting results, polynucleotides offer significant skin and tissue rejuvenation.  For many people looking to restore their youthful appearance, polynucleotides are the perfect stand alone treatment, or can be used alongside other cosmetic procedures to achieve a more impressive result.

Treatment
overview

Procedure time

60mins

This time includes consultation, assessment, personalised treatment plan, an opportunity to ask questions, treatment and aftercare advice. A minimum of 60 minutes should be allowed for treatment.

Course or one off treatment?

Course

A course of 3 treatments 3 to 4 weeks apart is recommended, followed by a top up approximately every 9 months to achieve optimal results.

2-3 weeks

Results are not instantly visible.  The new cells take time to regenerate.  Some people will notice an improvement after 2-3 weeks, and full results are usually seen in 12 weeks.

Recovery time

0

There is no down time from this procedure. The face may be red for a small amount of time, and depending on the requirements there may be some abrased skin.  What to expect will be discussed prior to treatment.

Duration of results

Permanent

The new cell regeneration is permanent.  It is possible to treat the area every 3-4 weeks until the desired result is achieved.

Treatments per year

Variable

Most people like to have a session every 6 to 9 months to sustain their youthful smooth complexion and maintain new cell regeneration.

Polynucleotide treatment options

Polynucleotides stimulate and repair

  • Hydration and moisture retention: Polynucleotides have a strong affinity for water, allowing them to retain moisture within tissues. This is particularly beneficial for skin treatments, as hydrated skin appears more youthful, supple, and elastic.

  • Anti-inflammatory effects: Polynucleotides help reduce inflammation by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and promoting the release of anti-inflammatory mediators. This makes them useful in managing conditions associated with chronic inflammation, such as arthritis or inflammatory skin disorders.

  • Tissue regeneration: Polynucleotides stimulate the activity of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen and other components of the extracellular matrix. This leads to enhanced tissue repair and regeneration, making polynucleotide injections effective for wound healing, scar reduction, and skin rejuvenation.

  • Angiogenesis: Polynucleotides promote the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), which improves blood supply to the treated area. This is crucial for delivering oxygen and nutrients necessary for tissue repair and regeneration.

Other benefits of Polynucleotides

Skin rejuvenation: One of the most popular uses of polynucleotide injections is in the field of aesthetics. They enhance skin hydration, elasticity, and overall appearance. Polynucleotides help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging by stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture.

Wound healing and scar reduction: Polynucleotide injections are also used to accelerate wound healing and minimise scar formation. By promoting fibroblast activity and collagen production, these treatments can enhance the healing process in both acute and chronic wounds. This application is particularly valuable in patients with slow-healing wounds, such as those with diabetes or compromised immune systems.
